Savannah, Georgia. My home away from home. I live four hours north of this city and have been going since I was a little girl every year for a little getaway. My dad has a barbecue contest every summer at the convention center, so we have been quite a bit and know what’s around.

It is best to make reservations for most of these places far in advance. It’s hard to get a seat at most of the places on the spot, especially if you are traveling with a large group.
Last summer, we stayed with friends in the Victorian District for the Fourth of July. I have only stayed in hotels and an apartment before this trip, so it was cool to stay in a house. The link to the house on vrbo is here. The Westin is the nicest hotel in Savannah. It has an amazing pool with cabanas, a beautiful view of the river, and the interior is super luxurious. The only thing about staying at the Westin is if you stay out later than what the ferry runs, you will have to drive across the bridge to go to dinner, find parking and drive back. It is much more convenient to use the ferry, you just can’t stay out super late. The ferry runs every 15 minutes and you can find the ferry’s website here. The ferry currently runs from 7 am – 10 pm. Check their website to make sure those times are correct.

Tybee Island has a fun restaurant that I love to go to! It’s called The Crab Shack. Their food is amazing and the restaurant is on the water in the marsh. It’s an amazing view and there are trees throughout the whole place.
Tybee also has an another awesome restaurant on the water. The sunsets here are amazing! It’s called AJ’s Dockside.
The lighthouse at Tybee is absolutely beautiful and a must if you’re in the area! It is a great view once you get to the top. Although, it is scary going up. The view is worth it!
Savannah is truly a beautiful place and there is so much more than on this blog post. Go visit the beautiful city and see for yourself. Thanks for stopping by!
